เนื้อหาย่อ : Preface An enormous interest is being shown in what is called Modern Mathematics. Many projects all have their followers up and down the country and, for these, special Ordinary Level papers are being set by various Boards. Maybe, from them, one day a common syllabus will emerge but, at the moment, there is a vast body of teachers and pupils who are interested in the new work but are not yet persuaded that it is in their interest to forsake the conventional syllabus. It is for them that this book is written. It introduces the most important of the new ideas and takes each of the sections, of and Matrices, which there are four--Number, Sets, Vectors tatistics--to Ordinary level. Many Boards are already fir demand for a syllabus which introduces a little of the new work and some Boards are setting papers on conventional lines with a w questions on Modern topics. The teacher who decides to ado one of these alternatives should find enough here to satisfy the needs of his pupils. The four sections are for the most part independent and the teacher may pick those topics appropriate to the syllabus he has chosen.
