What Galileo observed in the sky changed our thinking about the earth's movement in space. Rachel Carson, a marine scientist and writer, studied the plants and animals that live in the sea. Her many books reflect the beauty of the life in the seas and on the seashores. Each of these scientists shared a common desire to understand the world better.
