เนื้อหาย่อ : Electronics assumes an ever greater role in
American daily life. Applications seem un-
limited; new equipment is being designed all
the time; more and more people seek em-
ployment, security, and opportunities for
advancement in the electronics industry.
However, they cannot merely go to work and
pick up a knowledge of the trade on the job;
they must be trained. A knowledge of basic
electronics theory and hardware is necessary
in all but the most routine type of assembly
work. This text provides a working knowl-
edge of theory and practice for those seeking
entry into the dynamic and challenging
electronics industry.
Essentially, the electronics assembler is
part of a technical team composed of engi-
neers and technicians. The engineer origi-
nates fundamental ideas of product and
proceeds to plan and design construction.
The electronics assembler manufactures the
product, following specifications set forth by
the engineer. The technician checks out the
finished product to see that it meets specifica-
tions and functions properly. He is further
responsible for maintenance and repair, sO
that the equipment stays in operation. In
short, the engineer designs the product, the
assembler builds the product, and the tech-
nician checks the product and maintains it
in proper operating condition.
The material in this book will be of most
interest to those who wish to become elec-
tronics assemblers. But anyone interested in
the hardware aspects of electronics can bene-
fit by studying these fundamentals. The book
requires no technical background. It will
help the technician lay the groundwork for
more theoretical aspects of electronics; it will
help sales and administrative personnel be-
come better acquainted with the technical
aspects of electronics; and it will help the
consumer to understand more about the elec-
tronics product he buys.
Over a period of several years, the authors
have developed and used this material to
train electronics assemblers and technicians
at Compton College. Many students, with
